Buffalo Check

After many years with the same tree, we splurged on a 9-foot slim tree last year. Even though it is prelit, I still used the burlap garland I made a few years ago. It worked to fill the tree in and just added more lights.

This season an LED pre-lit Christmas tree was in order. See the upgraded Christmas tree and how we are moving towards a more of farmhouse Christmas decor. www.domesticdeadline.com

But, the lights of half of the strand died. When I sat down to take it apart and put everything on a new strand of lights… I decided it was a sign to try something new.

Might as well forge ahead with the buffalo check I’ve got everywhere!

Because we decided to put the tree in front of the window, I did fill it in with evergreen garland before adding the ribbon.

As of now, I’m enjoying the simplicity of the tree with minimal ornaments. I’m waiting to see how long it takes the kids to decide they want to add all of our annual and travel ornaments we collect.

  1. Love the buffalo checks - your tree is so pretty! We almost bought a slim tree this year and it may be in the cards for next because our tree is starting to show it's age. It's been such fun doing this holiday tour with you, Emily. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas!
