Hallmark Movie Christmas Cookies

Truth? I was kinda stumped on what to do for this post. I’ve already done posts on some of my most favorite Christmas movies and didn’t have any new ideas.

I spent some time perusing the Hallmark movie channel web page, looking at all the upcoming Christmas movies. Still not having an idea, I went to Pinterest looking for ways to use up leftover pears… because I had quite a few.

Christmas Pear Drop Cookies looked perfect… and the link took me right back to the Hallmark movie channel!

The next thing I knew, I was making cookies at 10:00 in the morning and my husband said the house smelled like Christmas… perfect.

Christmas Pear Drop Cookies

I always start out trying to follow recipes, but ultimately, I tend to stray. My version was a hit and gone before JuneBug even got to try one. Everyone has already asked me to make them again.

My version came about because I had more pears than the original recipe called for. And they all needed to be used up.

I didn’t bother peeling them, they were too soft to peel easily.

The smell of pears and butter and cinnamon… yum! But, I only had two sticks of butter left. Even though I had twice as many pears.

One and a half cups of flour left me with very runny batter. Probably because I melted the butter instead of using soft butter. I just added more flour a quarter cup at a time until I had a consistency I liked.
